About the Band
Founded in 1980 and proudly based in Rowhedge, Colchester, the Essex Concert Band has spent over four decades delighting audiences across Essex and beyond. From local performances in schools, churches, and village halls to appearances on bandstands in Bournemouth, London, and even tours to Germany and the Netherlands, the band brings its vibrant sound to a wide range of audiences. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to our community, regularly supporting local charities and fundraisers through our performances.
Our Music
The Essex Concert Band offers a rich and varied repertoire that showcases the full versatility and dynamic range of the wind band. Our carefully crafted programmes include everything from powerful transcriptions of classical orchestral masterpieces to toe-tapping show tunes, stirring film and television scores, and the timeless swing of Big Band favourites. We also perform compositions written specifically for wind ensembles, helping to keep this vibrant musical tradition alive. Whether performing in a concert hall, a village green, or a school auditorium, we aim to deliver something for every audience.
